Dynamics of autophoretic particles

Autophoretic particles are particles that undergo self-propulsion due to gradients in surface properties or concentration in a surrounding fluid, without the need for external forces like electric or magnetic fields. We consider a situation with a low Reynolds number regime. The goal is to determine the particle dynamics under the influence of self-propulsion forces, as well as the impact of these forces on the surrounding fluid field. We will use lattice Boltzmann to simulate the particle- and hydro- dynamics. The project involves theory and simulation.
