Analysis of granular flow in a rotating cylinder

The project involves a computational study of flow of particles in a rotating horizontal cylinder partially filled with the particles. Such a geometry is widely used as mixers, driers, coaters and kilns in many industries (e.g., pharmaceutical, cement, agriculture, ...) The open source package "lammps" will be used for the simulations. The effects of interparticle cohesion will also be studied, since such cohesion often leads to operational problems.
