The project will involve modeling of droplet electrohydrodynamics using electric fields. The areas of application are crude oil desalting and water water treatment. The idea is to see how an electric field affects the removal of water in water-in-crude oil emulsions encountered in desalting and removal of oil droplets from wastewater streams. The project will be theoretical/simulations in nature.
