Modeling excitable and non-excitable cells under electric fields

Excitable cells such as Cardiomyocytes and non-excitable cells such as cancer cells are subjected to electric fields for a variety of applications such as excitation, drug delivery and ablation. The applications are in medical treatment using novel technologies involving electric fields.

The project will involve modeling excitable and non-excitable cells under electric fields. The project will be theoretical in nature and involve numerical methods such as in-house advanced boundary integral methods.
