Understanding the fluid mechanics of thin liquid flows is important in the area of paints and coatings. The goal of the proposed project is to investigate the coating a thin viscoelastic liquid on a moving substrate via experiments. We have recently developed a new measurement technique to determine the viscosity of Newtonian liquids. The current project will investigate the viscoelastic properties of liquids using the same technique.
