Research Interests:

  1. Mathematical Modeling and Numerical Simulation: Electrochemical Energy Storage and Conversion Technologies

    • Batteries: Li-ion, Na-ion, Li-S, Zn etc batteries,

    • Fuel cells and Electrolyzers

  2. Parameter Determination:

    • Transport parameters: ionic and electroinc resistance (tortuosity), diffusion coefficients etc.

    • Kinetic parameters: function of lithiation degree and lithium ion concentrations.

    • Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS): Design of Experiments and modeling of EIS (based on physical processes rather than fitting circuit elements).

  3. Inhomogeneity in transport parameters

  4. Fast Charging and Optimal Design of Li-ion batteries

    • Addressing plating side reaction

    • Adderssing particle cracking
