Modelling the Elastomer Matrix of Solid Propellant

This part of the work will be a public domain aspect (i.e., publishable) of an ongoing collaboration with DRDO.

The material is a polyurethane elastomer, which forms the matrix of the highly filled system used as solid propellant in missiles and rockets.

The work involves extending the existing mathematical modeling to real elastomer behavior, as well as mapping of the existing stress-elongation data obtained at DRDO labs.

The tools employed will be symbolic computation software Mathematica as well as programming (via Python or Fortran, etc.) of statistical procedures such as LOWESS for locally weighted smoothing.
