CFD and ML-based analysis and prediction of fluid and particle dynamics in a spouted bed.

Fluid-injected granular beds (spouted and fluidized beds) are extensively used in combustion, drying, and coating processes. The objective of the present project is to investigate the role of particle shape and surface properties on the mechanism of onset of spouting/fluidization and the overall dynamics of the bed. Machine learning methods will be applied to predict the two-phase dynamics during the spouting process. The proposed approach will help to scale up the process.
