An Overview of Industrial Gas Separation with Membranes

Abstract:
In this seminar we will cover Industrial Gas Separation with a focus on Air Liquide Membrane Technology. Air Liquide is the Industrial Leader in Gas Separation and its Membrane Research Division has produced the widest range of Industrial Gas Separation Membrane products for any single Industrial Gas Company.

We will begin with a brief overview of Membrane Fundamentals. Transitioning to a brief discussion on Phase Inversion Membranes followed by Applications Overview of the major areas of AL Membranes on Land, Sea and Air! We will look at some cutting edge ideas for gas processing on FPSOs and conclude with an open Q&A.

Speaker Bio:
Sandeep Karode holds a B.Tech., Ph.D. from IIT Bombay. His career spans the entire gamut of Membrane Separation ranging from Liquid Membranes (B. Tech. Project, IIT-B), Reverse Osmosis (Thermax Water Treatment), Ultrafiltration (Post-Doc, France), and, currently, Gas Separation (Air Liquide since 2001 till date).
He holds 20+ publications in peer reviewed journals and 9 process Patents assigned to Air Liquide. He is currently Director of Applications and Analysis at Air Liquide (USA) and also an Internal Expert at Air Liquide and one of the foremost authorities on Industrial Gas Separation Membrane Applications.
