Research Summary
The main goal of myproject is to predict the phenotype, i.e., growth rate of E. coli from the genetic regulatory network. A transcription factor deletion mutant (fnr) has a growth rate 50 percent lower than that of the wild type. We intend to grow fnr mutant for several generations to select mutations that yield higher growth rate. Further, we intend to identify mutations that yield higher fitness by comparing the sequence of the evolved strain with the original mutant.
