Students from the Chemical Engineering Department of IIT Bombay won the prestigious Prof. N R Kamath Annual Intercollege Chemical Engineering Quiz, held on 16th March 2024 at DMCE, Mumbai.
Eight different teams nominated by the respective colleges across the state participated in the event. This is the third time IIT Bombay has won this competition in the last 18 years. The students who got the trophy for IIT Bombay are: Sumit Kumar, Manas Agarwal and Parth Dani. Proud moment!

Changing Role of Chemical Engineers' is a series of online panel discussions organized by the alumni of IIT Bombay Chemical Engineering, in collaboration with the department. This series will explore the current trends and future directions of important science and technology-driven industries. Panelists will shed light on issues related to materials waste and approaches to tackling this important problem.
The 4th panel discussion featuring eminent industry leaders and alumni of the chemical engineering department at IITB was held online on Saturday, 21 May 2022. The panel was moderated by Dr Sanat Mohanty ('95 and VP, Operations, Senseonics) and featured Dr Kalyan Handique ('95 and VP, Adv Tech, BioRad Laboratories), Dr Nirupama Kenkare ('92 and Head of MS&T, Alcon), Dr Joydeep Goswami ('93 and Chief Strategy & CDO, Illumina) and Prof Santosh Noronha (Professor, Chemical Engineering at IITB).
This is the third panel discussion organized as part of the series: Changing Role of Chemical Engineers. These panel discussions are organized by alumni of the chemical engineering department at IITB and bring together eminent industry panelists and IITB faculty to discuss specific contemporary areas.

The department has introduced a new course starting July 2021 titled, Introduction to Chemical Engineering Applications in Industry (CL 681), with a focus on the Pharmaceutical industry. The lectures are being delivered by two industry experts, Dr Ravichandra Palaparthi (Anagha Consulting, IITM BTech) and Dr Pankaj Doshi (Pfizer Inc, IITB BTech & MTech).
