The aim of this project is to study using CFD, wind-generated wave spectra (distribution of various wavenumbers). Softwares (Wavewatch) are available for studying how such spectra evolve in time and these softwares are used now by Indian govt. agencies for predicting significant wave height in the ocean on a regular basis. The work will involve theoretical and computational effort for studying the process via such spectra are generated. Apply if you are interested in computational modelling and find physics and Fluid Mechanics interesting. The work will have overlap with several existing PhD students in the lab.
