Research Topic: 13C Metabolic Flux Analysis (13C-MFA) of Microalgae.

Through evolution, microalgae have developed the ability to adjust their cellular mechanisms in response to fluctuations in the environmental and seasonal variations. Thus, these microalgae are affected by slightest variations in the light intensity and temperature to cause changes in biomass composition,  and growth. At Biosystems engineering lab, I am exploring the microalgae growth profile and metabolite abundance in connection with diurnal and seasonal changes. 13C Metabolic Flux Analysis supports the study by comparing the metabolic fluxes under diurnal and seasonal changes.This studies will be fruitful in improving the production of algal biomass and desired products.
