Research title: State Estimation of Nonlinear Dynamic Systems

With or without our knowledge we use concepts of state estimation in our daily life. Parents try to interpret the “condition” of their children by questioning them with various questions (samples), a player tries to interpret “information” of team members or opponents from their responses, a HR person interprets skills of an applicant with question and answers and an engineer always interested to know the true information about a process i.e parameters or states by means of measurements. Specifically in Industrial applications, process control plays a vital role in operating plant at optimal or required conditions. State Estimation is a tool which uses statistics, mathematical models and available limited information to know exact condition of the process so as to make controller to take a corrective action. Currently I am working under the guidance of Prof. Sharad Bhartiya and Prof.Mani Bhushan on State and Parameter Estimation of Nonlinear/Non-Gaussian Systems.

Advisors:  Prof. Sharad Bhartiya and  Prof. Mani Bhushan
