Optimization and integration of water networks using systems theoretic approaches

The project will focus on recycle, regeneration and reuse of water in various water systems. A system theoretic approach based on formal modeling, optimization and control will be used to analyze existing networks and propose design guidelines for new networks. A strong background in mathematics, modeling, optimization and control is suggested.

Optimization based design of food-energy-water system

Food
production, energy production and water availability are intricately related. It
has been increasingly acknowledged that these systems should not be looked at
in isolation. The area of food-energy-water (FEW) nexus has, therefore, gained
attention. Considering the nexus is particularly true in the Indian context
with our substantial food demand, limited land availability, already stressed
water resources, and increasing energy demands. Climate change may further
