Electron tomography and 3D reconstruction tools for nanoparticles

Most microscopy techniques give a 2-dimensional image at high magnification, but materials scientists as well as biologists need 3-dimensional structures. For electron microscopy, techniques like tomography and serial sections provide a way to do 3D reconstruction of nanoparticles. These have been widely be used for certain systems with a high degree of symmetry. In this seminar you will search for and review several such software tools and possible extension to other systems.
