Rain drops travel under electric field and undergo several processes such as deformation and breakup. Importantly, the electric field distribution around the rain drops can alter the coalescence process of a growing rain drop, with smaller water droplets, up in the atmosphere. This can potentially change the size of the rain drops. The project will undertake a detailed literature review on the effect of electric field on rain drops in the atmosphere, and will try to investigate the signatures of climate change in this process.
