Leak Detection in Pipeline Networks using State and Parameter Estimation

Leak detection, localization, and magnitude estimation is a key challenge in any pipeline network transporting gas or oil. This is  difficult problem due to large size of these networks and limited set of pressure/flow measurements available from this network. In this work, we plan to investigate use state estimation techniques applied on dynamic models of pipeline networks to detect and identify leaks.
