Fault detection in heat exchanger networks

Heat exchanger networks (HENs) allow for implementation of energy integration in a chemical plant. One of the key steps in optimizing operation of a HEN is to detect performance degradation due to fouling. This project aims at developing a method to detect performance degradation in a heat exchanger based on temperature measurement.
Desired skills: Modeling and simulation (preferably Matlab), data analysis.
