Development of 5-part blood cell counter

Our research group has been working on compact, point-of-care blood cell counter that measures the complete blood count, which is the most basic test to asses one's health. Specially, we are building a 5-part blood cell counter that relies on the principle of light scattering and fluorescence. The student would be required to understand the theory of light scattering and assist in the contruction of the device. The student would also be exposed to basic electronics and coding. The proposed work will involve experiments with possible application of microfluidics.
