Current Research

  • Nanoparticles :
    Our group has been working on the preparation of nanoparticles of metals, metal salts, metal oxides and semiconductor nanoparticles using water-in-oil microemulsions. We have been studying some of the important scientific and engineering issues both experimentally and theoretically. We are also currently studying the formation of nanoclusters from precursor solutions.
  • Liquid Nanocomposites :
    Our group has been working to develop superhydrophobic surface coatings based on both chemical and physical modifications on the surface.
  • Foams :
    Our group in the past has done some amount of work on liquid foams addressing both generation and stability issues. Currently we are working on the technology and modeling of metal foams.
  • Contaminants Transport in Porous Media :
    Our group has been working to study the influence of the presence of indigenous colloids on the contaminants transport in porous media. Both facilitation and retardation effects on the transport of contaminants have been observed.
