Mass TransferJourney of a concept to an event
Research in academia and industry are complementary to each other. One should be helpful to the other. Knowledge developed through excellence in academics should find a suitable position in tomorrow's world. Research Scholars' Symposium (Rsymp) started its journey in December 2006 when faculties along with students wanted to showcase the on-going research in Chemical Engineering Department.
A committee was formed and ideas were developed to convert it to an event. The First Research Scholars' Symposium took place on 10th Feb, 2007. The event was graced by the active participation of lot of important personalities from industry and academia. The final year PhD students have presented their research work while the pre-final year PhD students have presented the posters.
The daylong event facilitated exchange of ideas between research and academics and generated a number of interview calls for the final year PhD students.
