Small Angle x-ray scattering system

saxs.jpg

This instrument uses the principle of elastic scattering of X-rays (wavelength 0.1- 0.2 nm) by a sample which has inhomogeneities in the nm-range.This scattering is recorded at very low angles between 0.1 to 10 degrees. This angular range contains information about shape, size, intemolecular distance, porosity etc. It incorporates an imaging plate detection system that provides a 2-dimensional scattering pattern with a wide linear dynamic range. A non-ambient sample holder allows for measurements at temperatures from -30 to 120 °C or from room temperature up to 300 °C.  read more »

Inverted Microscope, Nikon Eclipse TE-2000U

Nikon inverted microscope.jpg

This microscope has its light source and condenser on the top, above the stage pointing down, while the objectives and turret are below the stage pointing up. The stage on an inverted microscope is usually fixed, and focus is adjusted by moving the objective lens along a vertical axis to bring it closer to or further from the specimen. The focus mechanism typically has a dual concentric knob for coarse and fine adjustment.  read more »

Model-Control Dynamic pH meter
Student In charge-Renu Kulkarni
-A pH meter is an electronic instrument used to measure the pH (acidity or alkalinity) of a liquid (though special probes are sometimes used to measure the pH of semi-solid substances). A typical pH meter consists of a special measuring probe (a glass electrode) connected to an electronic meter that measures and displays the pH reading.  read more »
