SMBC is a valuable separation process which has gained acceptance in pharmaceutical and petrochemical industry. Despite of its operation and use over the 4 decades, closed loop control has attempted only over the past few years. The primary hindrance in attempting closed loop control include challenges in modeling the process as well as the continuous discrete nature of the process which makes online computation very demanding.
