This is a continuation of the ongoing studies into the mechanism of reaction and
structure evolution in interfacial polycondensation, which is a step polymerization
technique with applications in micro/nanoencapsulation and in thinfilm composite
membrane synthesis, among others. The work will involve designing and carrying out
experiments to make polymer films by this technique and characterizing them in
various ways, and also development of models to explain the experimentally observed
features.
