Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) is a widely used technique for gas phase
separations. Being a discrete-continuous system and with involved thermodynamics and
kinetics, simulation of PSA is extremely time consuming. Design posed as a case
study approach is even more computationally intensive. The project will attempt to
adapt the iterative simulations to converge to final design with successive
iterations. In short, simulation and design will be merged to make simulation based
design realistic. The work involves modeling and simulation.
