The work involves identification of novel genes in the industrially important organisms P. funiculosom and T. clypeatus, followed by characterization of the gene products. The ultimate objective of the work is to deregulate (by genetic manipulation) enzyme synthesis. Familiarity with basic microbiology and molecular biology procedures is necessary.
