Conducting polymers is class of polymers which have ability to conduct electricity due to conjugate double/triple bonds which exist in their chains. They are used in super-capacitors, rechargeable batteries and in antistatic coatings. Considerable work is being done in understanding the mechanism of their charging and discharging processes. However, there are gaps in the present state of understanding. The aim of the project is to study these characteristics in more depth to evolve greater understanding of the processes involved. The project involves both experimental and theoretical components.
