Contact angle meter provides information regarding the bonding energy of the solid surface and surface tension of the droplet. It has been broadly accepted for material surface analysis related to wetting, adhesion, and absorption. It is used to detect the presence of films, coating, or contaminants with a surface energy different from that of the underlying substrate. It is useful in semiconductor industry, interfacial chemistry, cosmetics, biomedical, hard disk drives, plastics industry, IC packaging, erosion control studies, etc..
This instrument can measure contact angle on flat, curved and non-horizontal surfaces. Contact angle with a reproducibility of 0.1°, 0.01°, 0.001° on flat surfaces but both faces similar. It measure interfacial tension by Pendent drop method. It measure advancing and receding contact angle with motorized syringe. This instrument has facility of auto syringe pump. Its contact angle range is 0 – 180° and surface energy range is 0-1000mN/m. Its contact angle accuracy is +/-0.1°. Syringes type supplied are borosilicate glass and plastic.
