Model Tecnai G2 12 BioTWIN

Cryo TEM used in the field of cell biology, structural biology, soft matter and (bio)-nanotechnology in which investigation requires down to the atomic level. It provides extensive support for handling and maintaining samples at cryogenic temperatures. It enables explore the native state of low contrast, beam-sensitive biological specimens or other soft materials.
TEM analysis of biological specimens as well as soft materials like polymers can be done on Cryo mode or normal mode. Due to low HT voltage, this instrument is not suitable for hard materials like metals, ceramics etc. It examines rapidly frozen specimens, allowing to visualize three-dimensional structures in pristine, fully-hydrated condition, and in their naturally occurring context. Its features are high-contrast imaging, low-dose operation, low-temperature observation. Its unique BioTWIN lens is designed for optimal contrast and allows the observation not only in mildly stained specimens, but as well in thick, unstained specimens and soft materials
