COMSOL Multiphysics is an engineering, design, and finite element analysis software environment for the modeling and simulation of any physics-based system. It is a finite element analysis, solver and Simulation software / FEA Software package for various physics and engineering applications, especially coupled phenomena, or multiphysics. The COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software environment facilitates all steps in the modeling process − defining your geometry, meshing, specifying your physics, solving, and then visualizing your results. A particular strength is its ability to account for multiphysics phenomena. Its versatility, flexibility and usability can easily be extended with its add-on modules unlike any other FEA Software solution. It also offers an extensive interface to MATLAB and its toolboxes for a large variety of programming, preprocessing and postprocessing possibilities. Optional modules add discipline-specific tools for chemical engineering, earth science, electromagnetics, heat transfer, MEMS, and structural mechanics. COMSOL products are available for the Windows, Linux, Solaris, and the Macintosh operating systems.
COMSOL Multiphysics 3.5 is an engineering and scientific software environment for modeling and simulating any physics-based system, providing high-performance CAD and ECAD interoperability. Features include Parasolid file format support and a bidirectional Autodesk Inventor interface, as well as parametric sweeping and a time-dependent segregated solver. A broad range of discipline-specific technology modules extends the environment for chemical engineering, earth science, electromagnetics, heat transfer, MEMS and structural mechanics applications. Meshing features include the ability to create tetrahedral elements from an existing mesh of hexahedral elements. Graphics support GIF and animated GIF formats.
